Hello dear friends,

Happy spring! This is my favorite season. The weather is gorgeous, beautiful blossoms are in full bloom, and the air is fresh and fragrant. I love to be in the garden, sip tea in the garden, and of course, do some gardening.

If you have read my book Your Adventure to Happiness, you are familiar with the chapter called “Nourishing Your Body” in which I write the following:

“I would like you to start your own edible garden at home or rent a plot at a local community garden; it’s invigorating, compels you to eat healthier, and it’s more rewarding to eat what you grew with your own hands. You can plant a fruit or vegetable of your choice. I love cooking with herbs, so my garden is blooming with basil, oregano, and mint plants, each one vying with the other to be the greenest and most fragrant gift. You can start off with a seed or a flourishing plant. I took the latter option when I decided to plant basil. Plant it directly in the ground or in a large pot you can conveniently keep it in any small space. Nurture the herb, because one day, it will nourish your body. Eagerly wait for the day garden-fresh basil fills your home with a mouthwatering aroma and your pasta with delicately sweet flavor.”-Your Adventure to Happiness: Laugh, Love, Lick Chocolate Frosting by Zakiyya Rosebelle

I often use the basil, tomato, and zucchini from my garden to make a hearty omelet. For your enjoyment, the recipe is included in the book.

If you are enjoying a sunny spring like I am, I hope you will step out under the beautiful blue sky and do some gardening this weekend.

Talk to you soon.
